inspiration today {.Pepe's Paperie & Marmilade.}

Pepe's Paperie. My favorite paper shop in Canberra. They stock the most beautiful Italian and Japanese papers and stationery amongst others. I've purchased Cath Kidston wrapping papers, Corban & Blair albums, and many, many, wonderful papers and stationery. Just love their shops. I check out their website today and discover that online shopping is available. Very nice. I've been visiting their Woden shop since I first live in Canberra, some 6 years ago. Love them. Love them I say.

Marmilade - Limited Edition Clothing. Stumbled upon the website via All Things Bright and Beautiful. Reminds me a little bit of Alannah Hill's, except that these are one-off, unique pieces. No two are the same. It's hard to get, too, since you can't get them in your local mall. I so want those lacy and doily skirts and dresses.

wishlist {.Tracy Porter.}

I seriously love these bud vases. Or the hand painted, fine earthenware Monkey Pedestal Bowl below. Or most of the things in Tracy Porter's collection. Do I hear the word whimsical?

Women as art collectors

What I read @ Decorno, based on this article @ the New York Times, via Habitually Chic. Couldn't agree more.

It's a matter of buying what you like. For me it's also about supporting the local talents. I <3 my weeny art collection from Javanese and Balinese artists whom nobody ever heard of. There are just way too many talented artisans in Yogya and Ubud.

inspiration today {.Rasha M alHakim.}

I wish I could see more of her works. Love the colors. Stunning. Some of her works reminds me of Japanese anime/Sailor Moon type of drawings.

collecting {.watercolour paintings.}

I won these two watercolours from UK eBay today:

I got them for less than $5 both. Then my computer suddenly played up and I missed out on the one I coveted the most. Sigh. But aren't they so cute?!

house visit {.jasna.janekovic.}

What is not to love about Jasna Janekovic's apartment? Nothing. Everything is delightfully arranged in shabby chic colors and style. She painted her apartment and the furniture in whites, with various accent of reds and blues. Most of her collection come from flea markets and thrift stores. My kind of girl! Thanks for sharing your sweet home with us, Jasna!

house visit {.New York Social Diary.}

I'm having serious fun browsing the pictures and reading the interviews of uber-rich owners of New York apartments at the New York Social Diary. Most of the places are so opulent, so rich in textures, colors, and expensive furniture. Also, while there, don't miss the interview with Tord Boontje. He's one of my favorite designers, such beautiful things he creates. You won't see details of his abode, but you'll get to have a peek at his fabulous designs.

collecting {.vinyl toys.}

doc18 from flickr has the most amazing vinyl (and not - there are wooden, plush and others too) toy collection I have ever seen. He has hundreds of these creative and colorful figures. He takes his toys with him, they travel all over the places. Check out his piglet's travel-photo-log. It's not just his collection, but also the way he takes photos of them, so many interesting stories and backgrounds. I feel happy just by looking at all those characters and colors. ;D It makes me itch to start collecting these things too (maybe not, can't afford another collection ;P). Thanks for sharing your collection, doc18!

inspiration today {.Lori Marie.}

I stumbled upon Lori Marie's Pretty Little Things website while browsing One Good Bumblebee's flickr page today. Such pretty little things! Lori is a textile artist whose works have been featured in various craft and lifestyle magazines. I fell in love with her handmade bag (photo below), but I couldn't find a similar one in her Etsy shop. Still, there are plenty of delicious textile goodness in her shop such as this owl and this cute pouch.

From flickr I stumbled upon S.britt today. He is an illustrator artist with wonderful sense of humor. Check out his works.

Vision Handbags

Aww, I've just found that I won a pouch from Vision Handbags. This is the first time I've ever won anything that I can remember. Wow. So happy! Thank you, Joanne.

Joanne makes wonderful and irresistible handbags. You can purchase or view her collection at her Etsy shop. Don't you just adore her Fishbowl Bag below.

house visit {.MissKittyKat.}

Let me take you to MissKittyKat's home sweet home. I love her collections from Matryoshka dolls to robots, her color palette, the clever way she arranges her decor. Quoting her, "the key word is Kitsch". Thanks for sharing with us, MissKittyKat!

house visit {.Mattie & Den.}

For wonderful color overloads, Mexican love, and creative layout, I'd suggest a visit to Mattie & Den's home via flickr. I truly love how they decorate the house. Collection and colors everywhere, even in their laundry! It's perhaps the most colorful interior I've ever seen. Fabulous.

mosaic of life {.crochet afghans.}

I love crochet afghans/rugs/bedspread. They're usually very colorful and come in a variety of patterns. Most of them would be made from wool, making them the cosiest and warmest rugs for the winter. I'm lucky enough to own some, all thrifted from the local op-shops.

{.wishlist.}

Flea Market Style by Emily Chalmers. I've seen her living space featured in some English home magazine. Love her style.

zakka {.jamberry.}

What is it about Japanese stuff that makes me want to collect them all. You can find these zakka things from Jamberry. They specialise in stamps, but you can also find other handmade, unique items there. They also do custom order for the stamps.

If you have no idea what all those Japanese writings say and you are using Firefox, just right click your mouse, go to 'page info' and ask Google to translate them for you. ;-)

zakka {.fillette.}

You can find these little guy piggy banks and Avon girl statues at the fillette store. I don't know if they do international shipping, though.

inspiration today {.bookcase.}

Nice. I love the way things are arranged here. Look at how the folder colors match the rest of the accessories and the wall. But with this sort of arrangement, I'd only be able to fit 1/100th of my books.

intro {. WHY oh WHY.}

I often get inspiration overload from the world wide web. So many beautiful things, cute stuff, adorable pieces, 'wow' palettes. Be it vintage, crafty, or quirky. It's a crazy, creative world out here. I need a place, an online notebook, a web scrapbook, to jot down all these things I like that I find from the web. Thus, this place.
